Hong Kong Race Week and the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club are celebrating a Tokyo Olympic berth with Hong Kong Laser Radial sailor Stephanie Norton.
Stephanie has just made history by securing the first ever female single handed dinghy class slot for Hong Kong. The qualification comes after the successful running of the much postponed Mussanah Open Championship held in Oman, the final Olympic qualifying event for Asia and Africa.
This qualification sees the resumption of a Hong Kong sailor to the Olympic stage for the first time since the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, when the current Hong Kong Sailing Federation President, Cheung Mei Han and her crew Tung Chun Mei represented Hong Kong in the Women's Two Person Dinghy along with Chan Yuk Wah and Andrew Service, representing in the Men’s two person’s dinghy.
